Carolina's journal

Honor

Giving honor to my Grandfather ~  Lt. Col  Roy Leonard Lane.  He served here in the United States and in France during the war.  He was a civil engineer and was part of the making of the Alaskan Highway.
He owned a diner (The Creamery) in Morro Bay California along with a Pool Hall.  People from all over came to taste his ice cream that was made there on site and sourced locally until one of the Big Companies made it clear that he couldn't buy from that source any longer or they would run him out of business.     Always something it seems!    Any ways,  I am late getting this uploaded as we were busy yesterday enjoying some friends over for a BBQ.
Thanks for stopping by and will try and get to journals soon.
I just found a picture on line of the Creamery .   It sure does bring back a lot of memories.( Grandpa owned this building and 4 others that he rented out. )   My mom and brothers used to have a dance there after hours when they were late teens I believe and into their twenties.
