Dryopteris Wallachiana

the alpine wood fern is a robust species of deciduous or semi-evergreen fern in the family Dryopteridaceae. It is native to the Himalayas, Hawaii, Mexico and Jamaica.

It grows to 90cm tall, occasionally 180cm by 75cm wide. It is also found at our door.

Our example is certainly bigger than mentioned. The mystery is how it arrived in its current location.

Still, I do like it.
