Another Day, Another Trophy

It was another lovely morning.  I went to the Farmer’s Market, and joined the queue at the bakery stall.  It is very popular and you have to get there sharpish, or it’s all gone.   It is the Haddstock Festival this weekend, so there were vas plenty activity in town.  I stopped to listen to some buskers before going for a brisk walk around by the river,  As I walked back through town I could hear the pipe band playing from a distance and as I walked past a few places I could hear snippets of music as I passed by.

TT had been out this morning and when he reappeared he had brought lunch with him, which was a welcome surprise.  It was eaten hastily as we had to head off to Edinburgh with BB as he had a football match.  Another day, another cup final.  We dropped him off and had an hour or so to kill, so had a wander around Saughton Park and gardens and carried on along the Water of Leith to Murrayfield.  There were feathers everywhere, the paths and gutters were lines with brightly coloured feathers, fallen from boas worn by the Harry Styles fans.  There were loads of peoplel (girls in the main) at d well before 3pm, queuing to get in for Harry’s second show at Murrayfield.

We made our way back to the football pitch and watched the game.  It was a scrappy affair and not nearly as exciting as Monday’s cup final .  It also wasn’t very warm, as the sun had disappeared and we the spectators were all feeling rather under dressed. By the end our boys had scored two goals and the opposition only scored one, so our boys won their second cup in a week.  Add to that that they have won their league and they have done the treble, as I kept being told.  Anyway - well done to the lads and coaches, and of course to the parents for acting as taxis and going along to support them.  Once the presentations and photographs were done, we headed home.

By the time we got home and got ourselves organised there was a distinct lack of enthusiasm for cooking, so we ordered an Indian takeaway.  TT and I popped out to collect it and I think they had forgotten us.  We were rewarded with some beer for our wait – which went down well.  BB agonised as to whether to go out with his friends this evening, but didn’t go out in the end.  We all had a quiet evening.

For the second time this week, the cup winners.  A different cup from Monday.  The extra is from my walk along the river this morning and the second extra is a cute goosander family on the Water of Leith.
