Was It Really So Long Ago

Three Mornings In A Row

As operation no. 2 is an elective procedure, medical emergencies elsewhere in the hospital clearly must take priority. I asked today's registrar (the third to have visited me whilst in hospital) to explain the term, which simply means it isn't emergency or life-threatening. Understandable then that given the pressures the NHS is under, I would be placed under nil by mouth for three days, before heading to theatre here in the Constable Wing, incidentally, the same part of the hospital where my son and nephew were born, one floor down.

Jeez! How hot is it in a hospital? Even the staff thought it too warm, but seemed unable to do anything about it...
