Stormy skies

A busy day which started by dropping Pete and Alex at Woodwalton Fen, where they're doing a ditch survey. Then off to Castor Hanglands NNR to plan an upcoming geology and botany walk jointly hosted by Natural England and the Langdyke Trust.

The afternoon was spent at a Peterborough Local Group committee meeting to plan walks from October 20223 to spring 2024. We sat outside in warm sunshine at the Granary tea Room, but by the time we finished the clouds had built up and we felt the first spots of rain.

I then drove back to Woodwalton to pick up the workers, but didn't quite get there in time to stop them getting soaked by a heavy rain shower. I had time for a very brief walk before the rain arrived in earnest and enjoyed a great view of a calling Cuckoo, inevitably when I had no telephoto lens!
