Emil & Janosch

I was on Donkey Duty today.

Heavy work in 28°C.  Try lugging 2x20 liter full water containers over half a kilometer of rough ground and then doing it again so that they have water for tomorrow too. 

And then attending to all the other donkey duties - including getting Janosch to stop biting Emil's bum in an attempt to steal Emil's dinner.*  Emil, as you can see, is much smaller than Janosch.  Such are the tasks of a Donkey Whisperer :-)

Plus there was the total joy of preparing Donkey Desserts.  They get chopped carrots and apples with some mineral pellets.  As soon as you start chopping the apples, there's a chorus of Hee-hawing donkeys. They look so happy.  They have to be given this at different places because when it comes to pudding these three are half-donkey and half-vulture

Donkey work - it's better than real work.
