Our Wonderful Hosts!

We have had such a wonderful time in Mourão with Daveen and Mike. We are sad to leave but also eager to get on with all the rest of our adventures back through Spain and France and then England and Wales!

We had an opportunity to go for a lovely last walk with them, followed by a delicious “breakfast for dinner” of eggs, bacon and Brazilian Rice in the inimitable Daveen style with lots of garlic and onions with a fresh salad to accompany it. What a send off!

We encountered a lot of rain as soon as we reached the border with Spain, praying it would pass on to Portugal, but apparently it didn’t.

We stopped off briefly at the hypermarket in Badajoz to get some groceries to restock our van larder for the trip home.

Unfortunately we met with a scare on the road to Spain when a crazy driver decided to overtake us just as we were overtaking a slow moving truck, so that disturbed our serenity for a while!

Now we are set up for another night at the same campground in Cáceres which we liked so much on our way down. The one with our own private bathroom facilities.
