Home with the truck

Ross and Andrew have just pulled in to the yard. Yesterday Ross was near Merriwa on the way to Denman with a load of hay when his truck caught fire. I haven’t heard all the detail yet but apparently he looked down and flames were licking around the gear stick. I think an O ring failed and dripped oil on to something hot. He had a fire extinguisher and was able to put the fire out and luckily the hay didn’t catch alight. One of his mates came with a prime mover and delivered the hay. This afternoon Ross and Andrew went with the drop deck and a tractor to bring the damaged truck home. I will duck out for a progress report …

My new iPhone took this picture just hand held.

I went out and got this picture in the extra which shows where the flames were coming out. It is night time with a big moon and the light on the truck is from its headlights reflecting back on to it.

Andrew said she still goes. Brakes don’t work though.
