The View from Bickleigh Viaduct

Late afternoon sun produces beautiful shadows from this viaduct on the old railway line from Plymouth to Yelverton and Tavistock.
The view is across to and up the valley of the river Plym, up towards high Dartmoor where the river rises.

PS The rather strange arrangement of shadows is caused by the stumps of the previous viaduct (now covered in vegetation) which were constructed with stone plinths and then wooden trestles. The later viaduct is made with bricks.
