Male reed bunting (Emberiza schoeniculus)

I think I have only seen one of these on about four occasions and this is about the best image I have managed. Pity it chose to perch right up against the back of that fencepost. It didn't hang around for a second shot either and although I kept my eyes open for it, I never saw it again for the rest of my walk which wasn't very productive as everything kept its distance.

I may go back tomorrow or Friday for another look.
