Funicular

A great day of walking today. We are staying in Lynmouth and walked to the National Trust tea room at Watersmeet in the morning. We then walked on to Rockford and walked back on the other side of the Lyne river. The constant babbling of the stream and accompanying birdsong was magical.
We then took the Funicular cliff railway to Lynton where we had ice cream and a nose around the shops. Lynton also has a sweet little cinema tucked around the back of the town hall. One day i would love to watch a film there.
We finished our day by walking along the coastal path to the valley of rocks. Stunning views across the Bristol channel to Wales. By this time we were feeling tired but had to climb back up to the coastal path, where we bumped into a colony of sure footed goats. They were helping to clear the foliage.
We walked through the woods to Lynton and then descended back into Lynmouth on a footpath that criss crossed the funicular, giving me a chance to photograph it as the train passed below.
Feeling tired but satisfied.
Grateful:
That Suzy and I are still fit enougj to walk and share adventures.
Beautiful weather today.
The sun glistening on the Bristol channel.
