Leopard's Teeth

Quite a surprise to suddenly realise that there is a snake just in front of you on the steep descent. And it is an extraordinary one. This is a leopard snake or rat snake, and quite harmless. The skin is very beautiful, though. It remained quite frozen while we were standing beside it and while I took this shot quite close to it. So we left it, and it went away while we were out of sight.
