MonoMonday Challenge 488 - Challenge

Probably the most famous sculpture in Milan, L.O.V.E. by Maurizio Cattalan sits in the piazza in front of the Italian stock exchange of a hand with all the fingers severed - except for the middle finger.


Libertà, Odio, Vendetta, Eternità (Freedom, Hate, Vengeance, Eternity)  What was intended as a temporary exhibition in 2010 has endured more than 14 years.  Love it or hate it.


A broken fascist salutation in front of the fascist-era Palazzo Mezzanotte? A full frontal challenge to the system after the 2008 economic crash?  The artist doesn't give an explanation, but it seems pretty evident.
