Vancouver

This morning we left the Airbnb before И got up, and took the bus to downtown Seattle, where a coach took us to Vancouver. Although I've been to both places before on separate trips, it felt special to link them this way.

After crossing downtown Vancouver to Gastown - named after a Yorkshireman who opened the first saloon in the area but was forever "gassing" (talking) - I navigated to the bar where I watched the 2017 Europa League Final with И and dear colleague J in the company of the Manchester United Supporters Club of Vancouver, neatly complementing yesterday's experience.

After checking into the nearby Cambie Hostel, A and I walked down to the seawall, where we watched two huge cruise liners depart, and many seaplanes come and go. We then hired bikes and cycled the rest of the 16km seawall. It was very pleasant on a sunny evening, with constantly changing views as we circled a peninsula.

Back in downtown, we had a drink and then food and another drink before retiring to bed. All being well we're hiking tomorrow.

The weather remains gloriously sunny
