Taynish NNR - Snapberry Initiative

Taynish National Nature Reserve (NNR) on the west shore of Loch Sween, Scotland is owned by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). The reserve was created in 1977 and boasts a range of UK, European and international accolades. It is an oak dominated woodland with smaller areas of birch, alder and ash woodland which inter-mingle with scrub and open areas of fen, mire and heathland.

Today I was privileged to join the SNH staff and pupils from Lochgilphead high school who were participating in the 5th "Snapberry" - a natural environment photography project. I look forward to seeing their own photos later this year when they will be displayed at the Piggery at Taynish and also shown as part of the Lantern procession in Lochgilphead in November.
