Awr ddiamser

Awr ddiamser ~ A timeless hour

“The camera should be used for a recording of life, for rendering the very substance and quintessence of the thing itself, whether it be polished steel or palpitating flesh.”
― Edward Weston

Roedd yn un o'r dyddiau hudolus hynny a ddatblygodd yn syml mewn ffordd naturiol.

Aethon ni i ymweld â Richard, Steph a theulu heb unrhyw gynllun, ac eithrio basen ni'n ffeindio rhywle i fwyta ac yn crwydro o gwmpas y maes hamdden.  Roedd y tywydd yn boeth ac roeddwn i wedi anghofio fy het. Darparodd Steph bandana i fi ac edrychais i fel beiciwr. Roedd pawb yn meddwl roedd yn edrych yn dda felly ydw i'n meddwl y bydda i'n parhau gyda bandanas.

Aethon ni i'r bwyty Salkaara ar Ffordd Wellfield. Doedden ni erioed wedi bod yna o'r blaen ac roedd yn darganfod gwych. Roedd y staff yn gyfeillgar, roedd y bwyd yn dda iawn, ac roedd unrhyw cerddoriaeth yn gymharol dawel ac yn wirioneddol Indiaid. Awn ni yno eto - ac roeddwn ni'n hapus i ffeindio mae cangen gyda nhw ger i ni hefyd.

Yna, crwydron ni o gwmpas y maes hamdden - roedd nei angen taith cerdded ar ôl y pryd o fwyd cyn i ni allu wynebu'r syniad o fwyta hufen ia. Stopion ni am awr ddiamser ger y bont dros y nant fechan. Roedd Sam yn ffeindio ffyn amrywiol i daflu i mewn i'r nant ac yn gweld roedd pa un yn gallu ffeindio'r cerrynt i fynd i lawr. Gallen ni fod wedi aros yno am byth ond clywon ni galwad y siop hufen ia ar gornel Ffordd Wellfield.

Roeddwn ni'n ddigon lwcus i fod yn gallu eistedd mewn gardd fach y siop. Roeddwn ni wedi bod yn meddwl y basai fe'n orlawn, ond roedd digon o le am y saith ohonon ni. Mwynheuon ni ein hufen ia cyn cerdded yn ôl i dŷ Richard a Steph. Yna rhoesant nhw sioe sleidiau i ni o'u gwyliau diweddar yng ngorllewin Cymru. Ac yno roedd amser i  ni fynd adre.

Roedd diwrnod hudolus a bythgofiadwy.

It was one of those magical days that simply unfolded in a natural way.

We went to visit Richard, Steph and family with no plan, other than finding somewhere to eat and wandering around the recreation ground. The weather was hot and I had forgotten my hat. Steph provided me with a bandana and I looked like a biker. Everyone thought it looked good so I think I'll continue with bandanas.

We went to the Salkaara restaurant on Wellfield Road. We had never been there before and it was a great discovery. The staff were friendly, the food was very good, and any music was relatively quiet and truly Indian. We'll go there again - and we were happy to find they have a branch near us too.

We then wandered around the recreation ground - we needed a walk after the meal before we could face the idea of eating ice cream. We stopped for a timeless hour near the bridge over the small stream. Sam was finding various sticks to throw into the stream and see which one could find the current to go down. We could have stayed there forever but we heard the call of the ice cream shop on the corner of Wellfield Road.

We were lucky enough to be able to sit in the shop's small garden. We had been thinking it would be overcrowded, but there was plenty of room for the seven of us. We enjoyed our ice cream before walking back to Richard and Steph's house. They then gave us a slideshow of their recent holiday in west Wales. And then it was time for us to go home.

It was a magical and unforgettable day.
