Martin Down

This morning we went to Martin Down on the Hampshire/Wiltshire/ Dorset border with the RSPB group.  We were in search of Turtle Doves, a few of which nest there each year, sadly in diminishing  numbers.
We saw lots of Yellowhammers, Whitethroat and Stonechats but no Turtle Doves.
Martin and I  went home at lunchtime but later we heard that  one of our group did then hear, see, and photograph two male Turtle Doves, which was very  exciting news.
It's a good place for flowers and butterflies too. Here are: top left Dropwort top right Greater Butterfly Orchid, lower left Fragrant Orchid, and lower right Roseus Sorrel.
