Looking for the beauty

Day 3 Anglesey

Today was our final day in Anglesey and the weather was once again stunning.  After packing, we headed for the copper mountain (Mynydd Parys) as the landlady had told us how stunning it was.  We didn't stay long as we weren't that impressed but the colourful rocks were interesting.  It did look otherworldly and I can see why it's been used for films.
Our main destination for the morning was Llanddwyn Bay and island on the south of Anglesey. It was a beautiful place and well worth a visit. We walked around the bay to the island and lighthouse and we could have been on the Med! Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore Newborough Forest and Warren (there are red squirrels there) as I'd bought tickets for Portmeirion so after an ice cream, we left and drove south. There is loads of parking and a beautiful beach in Llanddwyn as well so you could quite easily stay for a whole day. We'll definitely return.
I've wanted to visit Portmeirion for a long time but was a bit underwhelmed.  Maybe I've just been spoilt over the last few days?
Anglesey was a lovely place to visit and we both really enjoyed our stay there. I really can't understand why I've never been before!
