This is a late posting, yet again!

We went for the same walk this morning as yesterday and it was just as lovely.  As soon as we got back it was time to shower and then help with preparing breakfast for our friend, J, whose birthday it is today.  After the cold weather of the past few days it was nice to see the sunshine, although the cold wind persisted at times. There were six of us this morning, as the friends who arrived yesterday stayed the night so they could help celebrate the birthday.  We had scrambled eggs, cooked by MrMacD, smoked salmon, bagels, fruit and coffee - delicious.

We cleared away after breakfast, had a short break in proceedings, then started preparing for afternoon tea, to which other friends that MrMacD knew were invited.  The sun shone all day, the wind only appeared intermittently and we had a most enjoyable afternoon with sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, brownies, fruit and lots of Champagne.  Such a nice way to celebrate J’s birthday and catch up with friends.

After everyone had left we loaded the dishwasher again, sat and chatted, then had an early night.

Apologies, I am still way behind responding to fellow Blippers’ lovely comments and dipping into blippers’ journals.  I’ll catch up as and when I can.

The blip shows an interesting pipe/chimney that is a very old monument, a lovely stained glass door, the table laid with afternoon tea goodies and a view of the garden in the sunshine.
