A celebratory crown

The Daucus Carota plant is known by so many names, like wild carrot, bishop's lace or bird's nest. At the moment walking in the hills around our little cottage I find it everywhere, in the fields and along the verges of farm roads and lanes and under the almond trees.

I think it looks a bit like a crown so in celebration of eight years of Tiny Tuesday, I have tried to capture a recently opened nest, still green and lush where you can see the miriad of tiny flowers which make  up one single flower head. In the late summer and autumn these will be favourites as dried flowers for arrangements.

Thank you to Jenny for hosting this month and to all have made Tiny Tuesday such a lovely blip challenge.
