Waders and Copinsay

A walk around the beach and dunes at Churchill Barrier 4 that connects the isles of Burray and South Ronaldsay. A part of the beach is posted to help the little tern colony there, the most northerly in the UK. Last year they fledged 42 chicks, a record. I saw about ten adults but kept far off. About a hundred small waders- ringed plover, sanderlings, dunlin, and a few tunstone, which are probably all in the flock. The extra is of a dunlin and a sanderling.
