My Life With Luna

By chrisA

Pink Petticoat, a patio Hydrangea received for my birthday and lovey it is too.
A cool 13 degrees and overcast meant it has been more comfortable cutting back the tangle of grass and spent wild flowers from the river bank, 35ft cut another 150ft to go, sigh.    Whilst doing that I watched the Swallows skimming over the water catching insects, a Kingfisher zooming past both up and down river, and fish jumping out of the water and landing with a splash, much to Luna's interest.   I've disturbed a couple of solitary bees nesting in holes on the river bank, but happy to report they are back home safe and sound.
Whilst writing this a Spotted Woodpecker is back and forth at the suet blocks, gorging itself before flying off across the river and then back a minute or so later, assuming it's feeding young.
