The Presidential Palace

Our second full day in Astana, slightly cooler than yesterday (36°) this morning so we took a walk along the Ishim River past the Presidential Palace. Our destination was the national museum, a very modern building and some great presentations, particularly of recent history. We spent a good bit of the day there and when we exited we found the weather had changed a bit, still very warm but windy and cloudy. We took a different walking route past the Hazrat Sultan Mosque (see extra). We had a few spots (quite a lot) as we walked back to the hotel but it dried out as fast as it fell.

This evening we’ve been out for nice dinner with Rosie and one of her student friends. We have said our goodbyes now as we fly home early tomorrow whilst Rosie is out here for another couple of weeks before her term ends.
