horns of wilmington's cow

It's good to share.... Taiko....

Finally I have a shot of me playing (on the right, in the cat t-shirt). The last night of our latest Taiko class, a sharing night where we got to play a couple of times, the other class doing the same, and the Dojo team guys there providing the more professional stuff in between. It was a fab evening, possibly even better than going through to the Dojo itself.

Managed to get through two playings of our piece with only a few little niggling mistakes, sop quite chuffed. And the next class starts in just two weeks (with a jiuchi beat that I just can't get to grips with, so should be interesting....).

Have to thank Stella for the shot, she grabbed my camera while we were up playing - we've been on a few of the same courses, but she's graduated onto being a dojo member. Oh, and that's Ken in the foreground/left who in the course of learning Taiko in the last couple of years has become a rather good friend. Loving being part of this, and can't wait for the next course to start.

Popped to the pub afterwards with Ken, Neil (cycling bud), Marie-Elaine (who has recently joined the dojo), and Paddy & Lisa who have been teaching us for roughly half of this course, nice relaxing end (even if I did manage a morose moment of 'my job is so meaningless' in the face of people doing genuine, true good for others).

Oh, and yes, I had blue and purple checked socks, and my 3/4 cycling troos on to play. After last night's dapper waistcoat, let's just say tonight was a different style statement.
