A Day In The Life

Nutty

We’re all grateful for a morning without rain. The skies actually lightened a few times teasing the sun but the clouds won in the end. Rain is moving in soon and is to continue through the night • I can understand if you’re tired of me talking…complaining…about rain when so many of you live in places that need it • My walkabout has put some of our fears of replanting to rest, for now. The tomatoes are the most concerning, with potatoes next, but everything else in the garden looks okay. All the young plants are weathering the storms, not growing, but look surprisingly well after hail and several days of rain. The perennials, on the other hand, are thriving! Everything’s grown taller; all a healthy vibrant green, with a few crazy with buds • We’re hoping the next week’s forecast falters so we really can avoid any replanting • I heard and briefly saw a Northern Flicker this afternoon. That’s always a treat. The birds and squirrels were out in full force scavenging seeds, nuts and suet before hunkering down for more rain • Bon Voyage ;)
