Getting the steps up

We started the day with a walk along to the harbour and beach where we were lucky to see a young kestrel on the sea wall as well as the seabirds on the rocks. Then it was back to the local cafe for brunch.

In the afternoon we headed to Cragside, a fascinating house and garden built by William and Margaret Armstrong and now managed by the National Trust. The rhododendrons and azaleas were definitely at their best. I loved the shapes created by the iron bridge.
