No Free Man

“No free man shall be seized, imprisoned, dispossessed, outlawed, exiled or ruined in any way, nor in any way proceeded against, except by the lawful judgement of his peers and the law of the land.
In search of water for today's Wide Wednesday challenge I spent the afternoon at Runnymede walking over the fields famous as the site for the sealing of the Magna Carta in 1215, along side the River Thames.
One of the memorials is an art installation by Mark Wallinger; a circular building enclosing a pool with the words of Clause 39 engraved in reverse around its edge, which are perfectly reflected in the water.
