St Catherine's Island, Tenby

“Simply enjoy life and the great pleasures that come with it.”
Karolina Kurkove
Bank Holiday Monday is busy in Tenby so we headed over to Caldey for a more relaxed day out, wandering the cliff paths from the village in search of seals on the beaches below. Nothing doing today but plenty of other interest and colour in the flora and fauna. When we returned from our cliff path walks the village was quieter so we had our late lunch on the village green, took me back to my weekend spent here at a retreat several years ago, the island feels so different when the day visitors (which today is us of course) have gone. Plenty of jellyfish around the quayside and along the waterline, the colours are so delicate and they looked so graceful pulsating in the water. Much gentler boat trip back, it was quite choppy on the incoming tide this morning. As we landed back at Tenby we noticed a high-vis jacket on the parapet on St Catherine’s Island, which has often been closed on other visits here. Several years since we’ve been around the Palmerston fort so another opportunity to see what progress the volunteers are making. Much more added interest since we were last here so well worth the visit. Collected R from the station, he travelled down from London today, and headed back for our first evening meal in the caravan before another daily visit to the beach for pebble skimming, heaven.
