Flight of the heron!

Across to Inverurie to see a friend and we had a fine chat about things such as music, sport and books. We were just saying that when we were in our twenties in the seventies, there seemed to be certain books and authors that everyone read.
Authors such Herman Hesse, George Orwell, Frank Kafka, Jack Kerouac and books such as Catch 22 and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance ( I never finished that one!) I wonder what the “must read” books are now!
On the way back, I stopped off at a lake to see if there were any nice photos.
Unfortunately the lake has been drained as you can see in the extra and I felt kind of sorry for the heron in the picture who must have been wondering what happened to all the water!!
