Winchester Cathedral

Another warm day, but the avenue of lime trees approaching the west end of Winchester Cathedral, captured  as we cycled home from uke class, provides some welcome shade..
This evening we attended the local RSPB meeting, where we were treated to a fascinating talk about WH Hudson,  naturalist and writer of the late 19th to early 20th centuries. He is remembered particularly for his A Shepherd's Life and his novel, Green Mansions. The speaker was Conor Mark Jameson, an ornithologist and writer who has written a book called, Finding W H  Hudson, due to be published in August.
