Hot stones

When we’d last been in Northumberland, we’d seen a sign for a stone circle near Duddo. We’d decided we should pay it a visit, and today was a beautiful day for it.

Sitting at the top of a rise, the five stones were a perfect vantage point for enjoying the view of the surrounding landscape. They knew a good spot when they saw it, 4,000 years ago.

After working up an appetite, we had very good fish & chips in Etal.
