wild & precious life

"Proud heights"

... which is, apparently, the origin of the name of the Northumbrian town of Prudhoe.

Stayed overnight with daughter, in one of these new build houses, to dogsit for her friend. This really large estate has been built in the beautiful and idyllic grounds of what was Prudhoe hospital, an old "mental hospital". The grounds include an ancient woodland and stream, which offered shade and cool temperatures on what turned out to be a very hot day across the country! I enjoyed the early morning walk (seen here) and the late afternoon walk through the ancient woods. The extra shows friend's dog, Roxy, doing some bird watching (a.m.) and Roxy with my two doggies in the woods (p m.)

There are so many new build estates in our area. Hundreds & hundreds of new houses of "not so affordable" housing appearing on green land. They are all being snapped up too!
