Quod oculus meus videt

Change of Weather

We had an invitation to a barbecue this afternoon so I went up with L to the stables and did the chores while she went out for a gentle ride in the increasingly hot weather.  The Cool breeze of recent weeks soon dissipated in favour of a more humid warm wind.

It meant we were able to get over the event early afternoon as the large thunder clouds started to from above us.  We were only a couple of miles from Cosford Aerodrome, where the air show is due to take place tomorrow.  As a result we were craning our necks periodically as a noisy jet flew over practising for the show tomorrow.  At one stage a formation of 6 aircraft flew over, which were red in colour, but I wouldn't want to stake my life that they were the red arrows flying past for a recce.

As the barbecue warmed up it was time for the thunder and lightning to announce the first rain for almost a month.  It started at 5:30 and hadn't stopped when we left to go home, late evening.
