wild & precious life

Quality day

Got up early and drove to Lancaster to spend a gloriously sunny day with my daughter & A. We had the best time: healthy brunch in the sunny courtyard of 'Brew' to the sound of church bells, walk along the canal, book browse and game of table tennis, visit to the fresh bread shop, the amazing stationary shop, the emporium and the games shop. Refreshingly cold drinks at a cute pavement cafe then a couple of blissful hours on the lawn by the castle and priory, chatting and playing a game.
After all that, we headed to an interesting uni talk, put on by daughter's Philosophy dept, which I could count as CPD as it related to psychiatry.
We then had dinner at an Italian restaurant that hadn't changed in any way since I was at uni in Lancaster 30plus years ago. As every place we tried to get into was packed, despite being a Thursday evening, we ended up there.  It was a bit of a strange time capsule back to the 80s/early 90s. All in all, a wonderful day together.
