Balmoral Crescent ...

... was the original name for this magnificent tenement on Queen's Drive in the Southside of Glasgow. 
It was built in1885 by the architect William McNicol Whyte and is B listed. In 1902 he designed a similar tenement in the Broomhill area of the WestEnd.
Balnoral Crescent lay empty for years as there had been a proposal in the 1960s/70s to demolish it due to a planned South Link Motorway passing nearby. Thankfully that plan was dropped and in the late 1980s reconstruction took place with the facade being retained. The flats are now highly sought after properties.
