Reading, Listening and Tasting

Walked over to Falcon Lodge Chapel where Deb was speaking this morning and helped out by reading the passage from Luke that she was speaking on.  Friendly bunch of older people, and L spoke to a couple of ladies who remembered her mum going to the church.  Then we were picked up and whisked away by Felicity and Paul for their pre-marriage and Paul's birthday celebration at The Cross Restaurant in Kenilworth.

Hard to believe we managed to enjoy another tasting menu while on this trip, but it has the huge benefit of allowing good time to commune and really enjoy some conversation whilst the small but frequent courses come along.  We remarked at how full we felt again when visually, it seems like there isn't enough to eat.  The dish in the photo is Breast of Creedy Carver Duck, heritage beetroot, Cherry and hibiscus Purée, Potato fondant with Raspberry Vinegar Jus.  It was a great meal, and even better company, and though we are disappointed we can't be at the wedding, realistically, the 4 and half hours it took to enjoy this meal gave us a much more meaningful time than the fleeting moments we might have at the wedding to get to know these two - see them again in the extra.

Had to have a nap on returning and then quiet evening and chats with Deb and Sam before retiring.  A good day for enjoying family.
