Bumblesnaps

By Beewatcher

This is a first

I’ve always thought that bumblebees preferred flowers that were easily accessible, like cosmos or echinacea. You seldom see them on roses, as the complex petals maybe take too much effort.
This paeony poppy popped up in the garden a while ago, and I was surprised to hear a high-pitched buzzing noise coming from it this morning.  Lo and behold there was a bumblebee, and it’s had several visits during the day.
You really do live and learn.
