Sea Kale

A massive sea kale plant growing amongst pebbles and shingle on the shore at Sandhaven.
Sea kale is edible and during the Victorian era was  extensively cultivated - the stems were forced by earthing them up - the blanched stems were considered to be a greater delicacy then asparagus.
