Hannah wins by a smile

It was the Colchester's turn for professional cycling tonight. The women's race came first with some valiant cycling throughout. However, the rider who pipped the lot of them by something like 12 seconds was Hannah Barnes. She looked supreme throughout the race - I took several photos of her before she took the lead - and she seemed to have her eyes shut as if she was being guided by another force!

It was a dull and rather chilly evening. Last year's race was held in similar conditions, but the 2011 was lovely and warm - t-shirt weather. It was so cold in fact, we didn't wait to see who won the men's race, although Kristian House of the Rapha Condor team was looking strong.
