Stormy weather

Another glorious hot, sunny day. No rain for ages, and before we left for Wooler I made sure that all the newly planted and container plants were well watered.

As we meandered up through the Dales it became obvious that cloud was building behind us, and when we stopped briefly by Malham Tarn the sky turned black, thunder and lightning started, and then the rain. Torrential! It lasted until we reached Hawes.

We stopped for a meal at the Morrow Lounge in Richmond, and reached Wooler just after 10.00pm. Sadly, many of the plants in the 'yard were looking decidedly worse for wear after so long without rain.
