Grey's Court

This morning I had a walk around the walled gardens at Grey's Court seeking further inspiration for my planned rose garden. This pergola is mainly covered with clematis but is lined with a rose called 'Isis' which I like (presumably named after the ancient Egyptian goddess rather than the more contemporary Daesh). On the wall at the end is an auricula theatre (although the current incumbents are not auriculas) which is something else I hope to create for the new garden.
