Had a full day and somehow managed not to get burnt even though it was roasting and we were out in it for most of the time. I can vouch for Aldi Factor 30 sun cream!

Went down through Grosvenor Park again to the river in the morning and then walked the city walls (think it's about 2 miles in total) - there were some great views and we enjoyed it. Afterwards we cooled down in the shade for a bit and rehydrated (ice-cold fizzy water has never tasted so good before!) before going on a boat trip down the river Dee. Loved it, so relaxing and good to have an ogle at how the other half live. Wow, there were some impressive houses along that stretch.

Back on dry land we went to the Boathouse with its floating beer garden, which we'd clocked on the boat trip, and then headed back into town for a drink in Watergates (a deceptively large, vaulted, crypt-like place) which was cool and had a roof terrace with plenty of shade.

Chilled back at the hotel for a bit before heading back out for a few more drinks and found a pool table - yay! It chucked it down for about an hour but we were busy playing pool and Horrible Histories Top Trumps so it didn't spoil anything - fun day :-)
