Bringing Home The Bacon

One of the nice things about photographing tree swallows is that they are not at all bothered by my presence. I can shoot fairly close to them so they occupy more of the frame. The downside is their speed.

My best chance to capture them in flight seems to be when they leave or arrive at a nest. I flipped between this box and the next watching as the occupants came and went. Flying out over the lake to catch insects and gliding back in again.

I think a bit of motion blur helps in this situation.
