Back blip
Day 7  Today was the last full day of our holiday so we decided to take the cable car to Mannlichen.  Yesterday we had intended walking there from Kleine Scheidegg but the path was still blocked by snow as can be seen in the extra.  Instead we had a short walk along the Royal Route to the Crown with extensive views of the cloud covered mountain tops in all directions and down into the Lauterbrunnen Valley.  Crocuses were emerging from beneath the snow with masses of gentians, primula and violas around. After descending to Grindlewald on the cable car we walked along the river before meeting our daughter S who had enthused about her visit to the Glacier Gorge on the edge of the village.
It had been a very enjoyable week and were sorry that we did not have longer as there are so many wonderful walks and places to see. We had been lucky with the weather and it was not too busy as the summer season had not yet started.
