Life through the lens...

Walk through the woods.

As we haven’t done any walking for a while we decided on a walk through Judy Woods. Lovely shade for a hot day.

Just one or two dog walkers about. However one gentleman had 8 dogs. All running everywhere. None on leads. Far too many for one person to look after properly.
Obviously being paid for dog walking.

We walked up past the fruit farm. Now all grassed over as John retired a few years ago.
We stopped to have a chat as he was cutting his holly hedge. Said how much we missed picking the fruit and veg. At this time of year it would be gooseberries.
The price I paid at the farm shop yesterday made my eyes water!
However looking forward to the ‘ Pile it high Gooseberry Pie’ which is cooking in the oven at the moment. ( Delia recipe) see extra.

I have made a collage of some of the photos.
Top is the view from Norwood Green looking across to Hipperholme/ Lightcliffe.
The blackberry bushes covered in flowers at the moment and I can see the fruit setting already.
Still a few foxgloves and wild roses although the roses look almost white as they have been bleached with the sun.
Lots of little brown butterflies flitting here and there. I think this is a Meadow Brown.

Called in at the Pear Tree Pub for a shandy to cool down.
You can see by the extra photo why it has this name!

Back home by lunch time. Temp. Up to 29C.
Again nice to have some shade in the garden.
