A last minute decision was made to visit Bergen. The flight from Aberdeen only 80 minutes!

A few Bergen facts … it is the wettest city in all of Europe, it is the second biggest city in Norway and is capital of Western Norway.  Bergen was a former capital of Norway when it was a trading post in medieval times and played an important part in the formation of the Hanseatic League.

The harbour today is at  the heart of the city and there is always a buzz of activity around The Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
