Long Jetty

The jetty on Tuggerah Lake was built in 1914 by William Henry Price for his own use. In 1915 it became a public jetty and a feature of the growing tourist industry around the Central Coast. The original jetty was 1050 feet long: it had to be that long to reach sufficiently deep water. That one was swept away in storms in 1927 and this is the replacement, even longer at 1152 feet.

The extras show the community mural that was erected as part of the centenary celebrations for the jetty in 2015. It's on the walls of a public toilet block, so I suppose it can rightfully be called 'public art'.
