Memorial Luncheon

Today was very meaningful, sad but lovely,  One of our men down at the railway died this past week. Following his wishes he was cremated and his ashes brought out to the railway by his sister his only relative. He had been an incredible volunteer for twenty years so their was a time of reminiscing followed by a lovely lunch and then we all got on the train for a trip down to the station with his ashes. We came back very  slowly and I mean very slowly with the train whistle blowing ever so mournfully and his ashes being scattered along the line. They are all wondering how they will achieve all the work he did. One of the younger ones spoke and talked about how he was such an encourager to them and a teacher. He sure will be missed an absolute gentleman
The extra shows his ashes being handed to the drivers for the first part of his trip. The young guard for the day called out All Aboard for Bills final trip I nearly wept
