On the roof

The herring gulls have been successful this year and produced three more chicks to add to the many locally. They rather like nesting on this sedum roof but were unsuccessful last year,
As we went to bed last night, the rain had started and remained steady for a while. A light shower this morning but that was it.
We walked along the coast path into Exmouth this afternoon and looked to see if we could go down on the beach at Straight Point but the tide was coming in and we would have got wet feet. At this point, a lady with a large rucksack asked the way to Exmouth. She had been looking for a camp site to pitch her tent. We met up several times on the way along the path. She resigned to having to get accommodation for the night. We wished her luck, a Saturday evening for one night in Exmouth without booking, I hope she managed to find somewhere.
