Salad

Salad, bread, and a Napoleon (millefeuille).

We went back to a Lebanese-French restaurant we finally tried and really liked recently. Today was not as big a success but still good. I had what was alleged to be a Salade Niçoise. Given the absence of olives and green beans and inclusion of green bell pepper, I will just consider it a decent salad. The vinaigrette didn't have quite enough sharpness. Also, in a bizarre touch, instead of more conventional dressed potatoes, they used breakfast hash potatoes (this was a truly off note). The pastry was too firm and the pastry cream a bit in the thick and pasty direction. I make it sound worse than it was, but it was certainly underwhelming.
